Usually it is Dan Wooden who earns the praise for wonder strikes but on this occasion it was the full-back who took the honours.

With Moneyfields trailing to an early goal the home side were awarded a free-kick out wide and just inside the Worthing half.

Spotting the goalkeeper had strayed marginally off his line Bailey launched an inch-perfect free-kick over his head and into the net for the equaliser.

Bailey rated it as his best ever goal.

He said: '˜I hit it sweet and with the wind behind me it caught their goalkeeper out.

'˜It was happy days.

'˜We didn't get the result we wanted but it is always nice to score.

'˜I scored with a great volley at Fleet Town last season but this has to be the best one, I have tried it a couple of times before.

'˜In pre-season I hit the bar with a similar attempt and have gone close a couple of times.'

Bailey, 26, is Moneyfields through and through.

Manager Dave Carter revealed the left-back even has a tattoo that states he was 'Made in Moneyfields.'

Bailey is a one-club man and has been at Dover Road since the age of six.

He lives not far from the club and describes himself as a local boy who has stayed local.

'˜I have had opportunities to go and play elsewhere but stayed,' added Bailey.

'˜When I made my debut for the club I was only 16-years-old.

'˜I remember it was at Bemerton and I scored what was the team's 100th goal that season.

'˜Miles Rutherford was my manager for years and now Dave Carter is in charge.

'˜They along with assistants Gavin Spurway and Matt Jones have been easy to get on with.

'˜Moneyfields is a community family orientated club who at the same time are moving forward.

'˜We have had good success in the last few years and it is good to be involved in it.'
