Craig McAllister and Matt Tubbs know what it is like to take part on the big stage.

They played for Crawley in 2011 when they narrowly lost 1-0 to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

They gave United a big scare in the match.

Gosport are at home on Saturday and manager McAllister hopes his team can set out on a path to a big tie in a future round.

He said: '˜Even though it is the early rounds we are all still excited about it.

'˜Being drawn at home against opponents below us in the pyramid gives us a great opportunity.

'˜It is the FA Cup, though, and we all know that anything can happen.

'˜There are always upsets and you have seen it lots of times.

'˜Ramsgate will be coming to us looking to cause such an upset.

'˜That means that we will have to make sure we approach the game in the right frame of mind.

'˜There can be no complacency. It doesn't matter who it is you are playing you still have to show them the same respect.'

Ramsgate are mid-table in the Bostik League south east division.

In the last round they beat Sevenoaks 3-1 away from home in a replay.

Borough know it won't be easy after their experience against opponents from the same league in the last round.

They edged to a 1-0 win at Sittingbourne.

McAllister's side, however, boast a 100-per-cent record at home so far this season in the league.

They will also be boosted by their first away win of the season gained in their last game at Harrow Borough.

McAllister is confident his team can get the job done.

He added: '˜In one-off cup games you need nine or 10 players to be at it.

'˜If we do that and play like we can then we should get the right result.

'˜The FA Cup  is important on a number of different levels. There is also increased prize money on offer.

'˜There are always one or two clubs who make a name for themselves in the Cup every year.

'We want to make sure we can go as far as we can. It gives everyone a huge buzz.

'˜Matt Tubbs and I certainly got that playing at Old Trafford.'
