While some might have splashed the cash on Valentine's Day last week, Portsmouth has another full week of gigs for those who missed out last weekend.

Kicking things off tonight, drum and bass promoters Up DnB return for another takeover. While their resident DJs fuel the local drum and bass circuit, Up DnB will be presenting Total Science as their headline act for this evening. This Bristol-based duo, with releases on the likes of Shogun Audio and Hospital Records, are celebrating their 20-year anniversary for their label CIA Records.

The gig will be taking place at The Old Barn, Milton, from 9pm until 1.30am with tickets £6 on the night. Supporting will be the Murky D&B crew in Room 2 and Messent, Golbin, Inertia and Cyan B2B Robinson (Context Audio) in Room 1. More details at facebook.comHowever for those who are a bit short on money, It’s A Sin are taking over The Wedgewood Rooms, Albert Road, free tonight from 10pm until 2:30am. Expect plenty of cheesy retro tunes from all eras with DJs Lemon and Spikey Mark.

Expect nothing less than a fun-fuelled night of pop, rock and beyond! For more details go to facebook.comIf sinful pop isn’t your thing, promoters Techno For An Answer will be hosting their own Shack Attack tomorrow at Shack Bar & Kitchen, Albert Road.

The takeover will be free all night from 8pm until 1am with residents Brad Hill and Cliquee going back-to-back and hot and heavy in the mix with a blend of thumping house and techno that is sure to get the shack shaking with low end frequencies!
