Portsmouth youngsters urged to sign up for free sailing sessions

FAMILIES from across the Portsmouth area are being urged to take up free sailing sessions this summer.

The Portsmouth Sailing Project, co-funded by Travis Perkins, the 1851 Trust and the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation, wants see 1,000 young people aged nine to 13 get out on the water for the first time.

Those who wish to take part in the Portsmouth Sailing Project can register online at portsmouthsailingproject.org.

The sessions will be hosted at Portsmouth Sailing Club, in Bath Square, and run by the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation’s fully-qualified RYA Instructors.

They will run from Monday, July 18, until Friday, August 26.

Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
