For the event, hundreds of volunteers – known as Wavemakers – are needed for work on both the land and water.

Emirates America's Cup World Series Portsmouth event director, Leslie Ryan, said: ‘The Wavemaker volunteers programme was a real highlight of our two previous ACWS events.
‘The support and energy the volunteers gave helped to give our events real character and we are looking forward to working with the local community to deliver another great event.
‘The boats are bigger, faster and we’ve got a new racing format for 2020 – the Wavemaker programme offers a really unique opportunity to be at the heart of it all and to be a part of something really exciting.’
