A number of fabulous fireworks events have already been announced - with some of the ticketed ones always selling out fast.
These are just some of the best in the area:
1. Southsea Common
The Portsmouth City Council-organised annual firework display will take place at Southsea Common on Tuesday, 5 November, between 4pm and 8pm with stalls and entertainment on site. A spectacular fireworks display will then take place from about 7pm-7.20pm, however, like last year, the event will not feature a bonfire.

3. AFC Portchester
There is going to be a spooky and scary new addition to AFC Portchester’s annual fireworks at The OnSite Group Stadium which will take place on Friday, November 1, from 6pm. Fireworks and a bonfire will still be a mainstay of the entertainment on offer for ticket holders – as will the spectacular laser show. However, with this year’s event being held just 24 hours after Hallowe’en, that means some extra spooky and scary entertainment will be added to proceedings. And there is plenty of food and drink available too thanks to the club’s four bar areas and now four food kiosks as well as a covered terrace. Tickets cost £30 for a family (2+2), £10 for adults and £6 for under 18s.
