Portsmouth Lion Trail: Just days left to collect last of the lions in the city's hugely popular trail
There is not long left to collect any remaining lions in Portsmouth
There are just a few days left to ‘collect’ any missing lions in this summer’s hugely popular summer trail.
The Pride of Portsmouth trail comes to an end on Sunday (September 13), giving enthusiastic residents and visitors just a few more days to get out there and find the remaining lion sculptures, with 45 of them placed around the city.
The trail is one of the centrepiece events organised by the council as the Portsmouth100 celebrations this year to mark the 100th year since Portsmouth was made a city.

Each lion is uniquely decorated by a local artists, with some themed to the area they are placed in and others celebrating the city in general.
Those taking part can download the Pride of Portsmouth app which contains a map of all of the lions, with a paper copy of the map available at the city’s libraries, though a few of the locations have changed slightly since original publication. The 46th extra sculpture, a unicorn, will be at Aspex Gallery from now until Sunday.
Plans are still being finalised about what will happen to the lions after the trail, with some being kept by their sponsors, and some will be kept as public art as part of the city’s collections and used for future exhibitions and events.
Portsmouth City Council has said that once the plans for the final lions are confirmed it will provide an update.
