Richard Ashcroft brings the first night of Victorious Festival to a close in breathtaking style - in pictures

Richard Ashcroft brought the first night of Victorious Festival to a close in style - with the rain finally also hitting Southsea this evening.

The former Verve frontman finally made an appearance in front of an expectant crowd who have been waiting since 2021 to see him - the year he was originally due to perform but didn’t as a result of Covis restrictions.

But it was worth the wait as the singer belted out his own hits - as well as a sprinkling of Verve classics - on the Common Stage this evening, much to the delight of a rain-soaked crowd!
