We all know that keeping our little ones entertained in the school holidays can be a bit difficult - and especially if you are not looking to spend a fortune!

But never fear, because Portsmouth and its surrounding area does have an abundance of fantastic places you can visit for free so there are choices come rain (more likely) or shine (we can hope).

Here are 13 fantastic ideas which will not break the bank this February half term!

Titchfield Haven is the perfect place to go for a walk and explore a beautiful nature reserve! Adults cost £6.50 but during the school holidays (February 15 to 23), children aged 5-15 years can go free! The children can also become Mini Rangers during their visit, by hiring a backpack for £1. The backpack includes binoculars, a hand lens, ID guides, activity sheets and stickers. Little ones love to find the Fairy Doors.
