Watercress line in Hampshire launches magical illuminated train show for Christmas

The Steam Illuminations shows have begun on the Mid Hants Railway Watercress Line, offering visitors the chance to see a ‘unique, world first, pixel mappable digital LED train’.
The incredible light show is displayed on a stream train, which has 13,174 fully controllable colour mixing LED lights and LED wristbands, as it rolls along the tracks between Alresford and Alton.

Hide AdFamilies can sit back and relax on one of the line’s other steam trains, giving them the perfect view to marvel at the festive light show.
The outside of the train will be visible at the start, middle and end of the journey so there will be plenty of opportunities to catch the magical sight on camera.
Popular and traditional Christmas music will be also be playing to help get your family firmly in the festive mood.
Trains depart from either Alton or Alresford, and will be running on selected dates between this weekend and the start of 2021.

Hide AdJourneys will take place between December 4 and 6, 11 and 23, 27 and 31 and from January 1 to January 3.
Everyone is also given an LED wristband, included in the price of a ticket, to wear on the train and take home after the event.
