Horseracing has been part of Goodwood since 1802 when the 3rd Duke of Richmond introduced the sport.

Fast forward 200 years, there are 19 unique racedays including the two-day May Festival, the dynamic Three Friday Nights in June – when a thrilling evening’s racing is followed by dancing to a globally-renowned DJ – and the nostalgic August Bank Holiday weekend, complete with the most spectacular firework display, all to the backdrop of fabulous racing.

The Qatar Goodwood Festival is one of the undisputed highlights of the British Flat racing season. The world-famous five-day festival, affectionately known as ‘Glorious Goodwood’, presents spellbinding sport and a social occasion like no other.

Season Opener – Friday 29-Saturday 30 April

Two days packed full of behind-the-scenes experiences featuring a complete introduction to racing.

May Festival – Friday 20-Saturday 21 May

Two thrilling days of competitive horse racing are spearheaded by four-listed races.

Three Friday Nights presented by heycar – Friday 3, 10 and 17 June

The series begins on the 3 June with award-winning Radio 1 Breakfast Show DJ Greg James with an evening of party anthems.

Iconic music producer and former Radio 1 DJ Annie Mac follows on 10 June, before Ibiza King, house and techno veteran Carl Cox takes to the stage for the ultimate crescendo on 17 June.

Family Race Day – Sunday 5 June

Free fairground entertainment, face painting and jubilee celebrations for children of all ages to enjoy.

Qatar Goodwood Festival – Tuesday 26-Saturday 30 July

August Bank Holiday – Friday 26-Sunday 28 August

Friday night opens the weekend with a fireworks spectacle with a breathtaking display to music. On Saturday and Sunday enjoy free family activities including a fairground, circus tutors, pony rides, petting zoo and more.

Midweek Racing – Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 21 September

Feast your eyes on the equine stars of tomorrow to the backdrop of beautiful surroundings.

Season Finale – Sunday 9 October

Celebrate our final fixture in a laid-back country-style atmosphere. In-between fantastic racing, enjoy merry tunes against the backdrop of roaring fire pits and toasted marshmallows.
