Bringing Live Music to Schools

Solent Philharmonic Winds recently had the privilege of performing music to pupils of Harrison Primary School in Fareham.

The performance was split into two sessions each of about 300 pupils and consisted of popular music from Disney, Mission Impossible and Aladdin. In addition Music Director Ka Wai Cheng described to the children the various instruments of the ensemble with each instrument giving a demonstration of its musical style.

Our musicians enjoyed playing for the pupils who were an enthusiastic, interested and engaged audience, hopefully we have planted a seed in these young minds that will lead them on to playing an instrument.
