Hayling Island care home team celebrates national accolade
Care workers at Gorseway Park Nursing Home and Retirement Village on Hayling Island are celebrating after being named team of the year at the Agincare Heroes Awards 2026, beating strong competition from teams across the care provider’s 200 locations nationwide.

The team received the highest number of award nominations of any Agincare service, which together employ some 6,000 people, with heartfelt tributes from friends and relatives of residents who live at the home.
Registered Manager Janice West and colleagues made the short trip to Chewton Glen Hotel in the New Forest to be awarded the trophy by Agincare Founder and Chairman Derek Luckhurst and Chief Executive Raina Summerson at a prestigious awards ceremony.
Janice said: “The award is fantastic recognition for the whole team at Gorseway, whatever their role may be, particularly as many nominations came from the families of those we support day in, day out.
“It was pleasing to be named as the team of the year against such stiff competition across all the Agincare services in the country, and we’ll be sure to find a fitting way of celebrating the achievement with the whole team”.
The trophy now takes pride of place in Gorseway Park’s reception area, showcasing the achievement to all who pass through their doors.
Rated ‘Good’ by the CQC, Gorseway Park is set within four acres of beautiful gardens and provides high-quality care for people at different stages of their life – from independent living apartments to 24-hours a day residential and nursing support.
