OAR-some rowing at annual Tudor challenge event
On Saturday, in testing conditions, twenty one rowing gigs from our three local harbours and beyond, launched from Tudor Sailing Club to participate the annual Tudor Challenge Rowing event.

This is a 10 mile handicap race around Langstone Harbour. With temperatures of 27oC this was a tough race and given the heat it was impossible to predict where the trophies would go.
Tudor Sailing club took four awards, Portchester won the novice trophy. Langstone Cutters picked up trophies for the fastest Celtic longboat and for overall fastest vets whilst Lewis won fastest Cornish Pilot gig. The event welcomed two boats from Yarmouth and visitors from Weybridge were awarded a trophy for ‘best of the rest’

Apres rowing was welcomed this year and - there were a lot of very thirsty competitors.
"Fixed Seat rowing is truly inclusive no matter age or gender. If you want to give it a go…get in touch," a spokesperson said.
