Portchester weight loss expert wins award for helping members achieve weight loss success!

Slimming World Consultant Carole Bailey from Portchester has won not one but two prestigious awards in recognition of her amazing work supporting people in Portchester to live happier, healthier lives.

Carole Bailey, who runs the Portchester Slimming World group at her NEW venue Portchester Castle Street Centre every week, she collected the coveted Diamond Awards at the organisation’s annual ‘Oscars’ ceremony. Slimming World’s Managing Director Lisa Salmon hosted the sparkling event, held at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham.

Carole bagged the awards, which marks her as one of the best weight loss experts across the UK and Ireland, because of the standout level of support she offers her members each week, which helps them achieve incredible weight loss success. Over the past year, members of the Portchester Slimming World group have lost more than 400st between them.

Carole is hugely proud of the difference she makes within her local community. “While I was the one collecting this award, it’s an achievement for every single member in our group – they’re all diamonds in my eyes with their amazing weight losses! I truly believe I have the best, most rewarding, role in the world and this award makes it even more special.”

Carole lost nearly 3st with Slimming World herself before becoming a self-employed Consultant. She has maintained her weight loss for 17 years and says she feels confident of keeping it that way.

Before I joined Slimming World, I felt unhappy and struggled to socialise through lack of confidence, I wasn’t sure if I would ever be able to get to where I so desperately wanted to be with my weight, or where to even start until my friend introduced me to her local group.

I remember I was so nervous walking into my first group session, I thought it would be awkward, but I was met with such warmth and finally felt like I’d found a place where everyone was in the same boat and understood how I felt about my weight – because they had the same challenges or worries. We’ve recently made some changes to the way our groups run, so if anyone’s been a Slimming World member before they’ll spot a few updates including an even stronger focus on mindset, planning and strategies for the week ahead.

“For me the combination of the group support and Slimming World’s healthy eating plan, Food Optimising, was a game changer. I lost weight while enjoying delicious, filling meals and the accountability of that weekly session kept me motivated. Gradually, I even started to get more active and now I love doing various exercise classes. It’s incredible to think how far I’ve come, and I feel proud of myself, knowing I’ve made changes that I can maintain for life, without feeling restricted, is the most empowering feeling.”

My weight loss journey inspired me to become a part-time Slimming World Consultant in 2008 alongside my other job.

I have now been running a Slimming World group for nearly 19 years and I absolutely love helping people become the newer more confident, healthier versions of them self.
