Senior employees took part in an Institute of Leadership & Management-approved programme delivered by training specialists Evolution4Business.

They received certificates of achievement and have been enrolled on follow up courses as part of continued development.

HWB is determined to drive quality and growth within its senior staff as part of its commitment to promote from within wherever possible.

The course followed the same pattern as one earlier this year which was successfully completed by 12 colleagues.

Staff got together for the latest course, which was organised over seven sessions by Bournemouth-based Angie Beeston.

Topics included leadership and management, communicating effectively as a manager, delegation and managing people, giving and receiving feedback and building resilience, managing difficult situations and conversations and self-reflection and leadership awareness.

Shelley Harding, HR Manager at HWB Chartered Accountants, said: “We find this course to be particularly meaningful and well considered.

“Reflecting our commitment to invest in people, it gives colleagues a chance to step back from the ‘coalface’ of work for a while to express their ideas and opinions, and also, most importantly, consider the impact of their decisions, actions, and behaviours on others.

“It is a key opportunity to capture individuals’ challenges which they may have experienced and help them to continue to use their knowledge and skills moving forwards, creating good habits.

“The interactive sessions included discussions and specific examples which individuals brought up – giving people the opportunity to practice specific situations they may need support and guidance with during the various topics.”

The leadership development programme is Quality Assured and awarded recognition by the Institute of Leadership & Management.

The successful candidates received an Institute of Leadership & Management Approved certificate, along with Professional Membership of the ILM for 12 months.
