Trevor halves his diabetes reading with life-changing slimming success
Emsworth Slimming World member Trevor Peacock is celebrating an incredible transformation in his health after losing weight, changing his eating habits and embracing a healthier lifestyle.

Trevor first walked through the doors of Gabby’s Slimming World group in Emsworth in September 2025, having been inspired by the fantastic progress his wife, Linda, had already made at the group.
At the time, Trevor’s diabetes reading was 88, and he had been prescribed medication. Determined to take positive steps towards improving his health, Trevor decided it was time to make some changes but importantly, he wanted to do it in a way that he could enjoy and maintain.
Rather than feeling that he had to give up the foods he loved, Trevor discovered that Slimming World’s Food Optimising plan allowed him to continue enjoying delicious, satisfying meals while making healthier choices. His progress has been remarkable.
When Trevor returned for another diabetes reading in January 2026, his reading had fallen from 88 to 68.
And now, after continuing with his healthy eating and weight-loss journey, Trevor has had his latest reading and it has fallen dramatically again to 44.
That means Trevor has halved his diabetes reading in less than a year.
For Trevor, the changes haven’t meant surviving on salads or saying goodbye to his favourite meals. He still enjoys foods he loves, including Beef Bourguignon, marinated chicken, roast dinners and curries.
It is this freedom and flexibility that has helped Trevor make changes that fit into his everyday life proving that healthy eating doesn’t have to mean boring eating.
Trevor is now almost at his lightest weight ever, and he has set himself another exciting goal: to work towards getting back to the weight he was on his wedding day.
His journey is a brilliant example of how making healthier choices, losing weight and having the support of a friendly group can make a real difference.
Slimming World has also been working in partnership with Diabetes UK, sharing healthy, Food Optimising-friendly recipes designed to help people living with diabetes or at risk of type 2 diabetes enjoy a varied and delicious diet. (Slimming World)
One recipe Trevor and other members could try is Slimming World’s chicken and mushroom potato bake a comforting dish made with chicken, mushrooms, new potatoes, onion and garlic, and one of the recipes specially selected as part of the Slimming World and Diabetes UK partnership. (Slimming World)
The partnership is another example of how healthy eating can be made practical, enjoyable and achievable, with Slimming World emphasising that members should continue to follow any individual medical or dietary advice given by their healthcare team. (Slimming World)
For Trevor, the biggest achievement isn’t simply the number on the scales or his latest reading it is knowing that the healthier choices he has made are becoming part of his everyday lifestyle.
And with his sights firmly set on reaching his wedding-day weight, Trevor’s journey certainly isn’t over yet.
Trevor attends Gabby’s Slimming World group at One Church, Thorney Road, Emsworth, every Friday at 7.30am, 9am and 10.30am and says he could not have done it without the group support.
His story is a wonderful reminder that it is never too late to make a change and that getting healthier doesn’t mean giving up the foods you love.
