Portsmouth Diocese: Young people take the lead with new Wellbeing Club podcast
A podcast will help young people understand the importance of emotional wellbeing
A new youth-led podcast launched by the Portsmouth Diocese is giving young people across the region a powerful platform to share their experiences and help improve understanding of emotional wellbeing.
The Wellbeing Club Podcast is a groundbreaking initiative designed by young people, for young people, creating a safe, inclusive and supportive space where honest conversations about emotional wellbeing can take place. Created by The Council for Social Responsibility (CSR) and supported by #BeeWell, the project empowers young people to take ownership of their own stories while contributing to meaningful discussions that resonate with their peers, professionals and families.
Through real-life experiences and open, informal conversations, young people explore the challenges they face in everyday life, providing valuable insight and education for listeners of all ages. More than just a podcast, The Wellbeing Club aims to break down stigma, encourage understanding and inspire positive change in how emotional wellbeing is discussed and supported.

Young people are involved in every stage of production, from choosing episode themes to hosting discussions and shaping content. Topics include bullying, social media, loneliness, anxiety, puberty and mental health diagnoses, alongside practical advice, expert insight and signposting to support services.
The project is recorded and edited at Express FM, with support from experienced radio presenter Paul Marsh, giving participants the opportunity to develop broadcasting, communication and media production skills while amplifying their voices.

The initiative marks the beginning of an evolving journey to ensure that young voices are not only heard but truly listened to.

Young people aged 11 to 18 who would like to get involved are encouraged to take part. Participation is completely free, and anyone interested can contact the Council of Social Responsibility via https://www.csrnet.org.uk/contact/ to find out more.
