A stress-free arrival, but it was manic at the festival

Have your say

I’d never been to the Victorian Festival of Christmas, which is held each year in Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard.

So when I heard that my mum was going to take my sister’s child for the day on Saturday, I thought it was an ideal opportunity for Matt and I to go and experience it too.

This led to my other sister, Michelle, deciding to come along with her newborn baby.

Because more than 35,000 people were expected over the course of the weekend, we decided to ditch our cars and use the park and ride.

I have to say it was absolutely brilliant – we didn’t have to wait for the bus for either journey and it only cost £4 for all of us to ride.

I highly recommend park and ride if you’ve not yet tried it as it saves all the stress of parking, which usually ends with you getting wound up and grumpy.

Anyway, the festival was beautiful. I loved the fake snow down some of the lanes and I loved the market stalls.

It was absolutely manic down there though.

So many people went, which is great for the city and the independent traders.

The only problem was that it was one of baby Sienna’s first outings since she was born on November 9 and pushing her buggy down cobbled streets presented some issues.

That and the fact my sister had to keep stopping to breastfeed. Oh, the wonders of Mother Nature!

On Sunday I went to the Kings Theatre in Southsea with my mum and two of her friends – one, Heather, is a huge supporter of the Salvation Army and she invited me along to attend their annual Christmas carol concert, which was absolutely brilliant.

The compere was Russell Rook and I admit to being totally blown away by his presenting skills.

He was incredible. Very funny, very soft and he managed to compere in just the right manner for his audience.

I was very impressed by the whole thing and have already confirmed my interest in attending next year.

A great evening and a must for everyone to really get into the Christmas spirit.

IT’S ABOUT TIME THAT CHERYL ADMITTED SHE IS PREGNANT

It’s about time Cheryl ‘Cole’ confirmed the pregnancy rumours.

I know her surname isn’t Cole any more, but honestly, who really thinks of her as being Cheryl Fernandez-Versini?

Anyway, the Girls Aloud star has been sending the rumour mill into overdrive over the past few weeks as she’s sported a slightly fuller figure and a little bump.

But surely even she couldn’t deny the rumours any more when she was spotted this week on a date night with her BF, One Direction star Liam Payne.

She had the cutest bump in the world and there’s no way Cheryl could put it down to consuming too many mince pies.

I’m really pleased for her. Let’s hope she has finally found her happy ending.

I REALLY FEEL A SENSE OF LOSS WHEN I’M A CELEBRITY FINISHES

Will anyone else be gutted when I’m A Celebrity finishes this weekend?

I say this every year, but I really do feel a sense of loss when it finishes.

We absolutely love the show in our household and over the weeks you get attached to the characters in the camp.

Usually you get the bickering and arguments between the celebrities as hunger and tiredness kicks in, but this year they’ve all got on remarkably well – even if Homes Under The Hammer’s Martin Roberts has definitely rubbed a few up the wrong way.

There is quite literally no other presenting talent who could get away with the ridiculous gags of Ant and Dec, but that is what makes the show – and long may it continue.
