CHERYL GIBBS: After just 10 minutes, I was thinking about my dinner

For example, if we go to the cinema and we’ve not pre-booked our seats, I’ll want to get there at least 30 minutes before the movie starts to ensure I get my usual seating.

Call me weird, but it’s just my thing.

My husband Matt and I went to see the highly-anticipated sequel Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2, last Friday – the day of its release – at the Odeon in Port Solent.

I only saw the first Guardians movie a few months ago because, in all honesty, I didn’t think I’d like it.

But I absolutely loved it.

How can you not when you have a talking tree, an ex-wrestler who has some of the most comedic lines, a green female warrior and Chris Pratt who, well, is beautiful to admire?

So you can imagine my disappointment when, just 10 minutes into the sequel, I was starting to wonder what to have for dinner.

As many of you will relate to, this is not the best sign when you’re supposed to be engrossed in a new film.

Unfortunately, the lack of a decent script and general over-characterisation just made for a rather lacklustre movie.

The plot centres on Star Lord (Chris Pratt) connecting with his long-lost father, played by Kurt Russell.

To be honest I just didn’t buy the whole thing.

It’s not that any of them are particularly bad in the movie. Quite the contrary, in fact.

But it just felt like the whole thing was focused around what made the first one so popular and they decided just to go to town with it.

Such a shame, especially given that I love Marvel and I so wanted to give it a good rating when I reviewed it on my YouTube channel Queen of the Screen at the weekend.

I’ve not yet had any negative comments, so I can only assume that others agree with me.

Pop singer Miley Cyrus has been talking to Billboard magazine about rekindling her romance with Liam Hemsworth.

The pair originally met on the set of romantic movie The Last Song in 2010 when Miley had a, how can I put it, cleaner, more girl-next-door image.

Over the years the songstress became more and more daring with her outfits and more wild on stage and they finally called time on their relationship in 2013.

She says: ‘I needed to change so much. And changing with someone else not changing like that is too hard.

‘Suddenly you’re like “I don’t recognise you any more.”’

But now fans will be pleased to know that Miley and Liam are very much an item once again.

I FIND IT BIZARRE THAT PEOPLE PREFER DOCTORED PHOTOGRAPHS

I know I often talk about the Kardashian family – I admit they are my guilty pleasure, even though I often find their antics rather bizarre.

But what I don’t understand is the backlash Kim has received this week for publishing photos of her behind that weren’t photoshopped.

Now don’t get me wrong. I understand some people may find photos of her backside plastered over social media a bit distasteful. But apparently this isn’t the problem.

It seems the reason that 100,000 of her followers have ‘un-followed’ her on Instagram is because said pictures weren’t photoshopped and therefore showed her bottom in all its natural glory.

So people would rather see an altered photo than the real thing? Bizarre.
