STEVE POWER: The '˜it's too hot' moans have started

This week we witnessed a miracle. The sun has decided to gift us with its presence, but with it brings the moaning.

We moan when it’s raining and then we moan when it’s hot.

We’re never happy!

One man living abroad has found the perfect solution for this, he’s only gone and turned his front room into a swimming pool!

Now I’m not sure that I would go to this extreme but if this heat continues I may have to invest in a paddling pool for my lounge.

n I managed to catch a few rays myself at the Brentwood Festival this weekend.

I love a good festival but why do we always spend half the time queuing?

We queue to get into the festival, queue to use the toilets, queue to grab a burger and so on.

Us Brits do like to queue don’t we?

n Have you ever overheard the hilarious lies that parents tell their children?

I was in Tesco last week and heard a child ask their mum when they would they be allowed to drink coca cola.

She replied: ‘You have to be 18 years old to drink coke remember?’

This reminded me of my childhood friend who grew up thinking raisins were chocolate because their mum had convinced them of this.

I can’t figure out if this way of parenting is pure genius or child cruelty.

Are we setting our children up for some very embarrassing moments on the school playground?
