Deliveroo in Fareham sees fish and chips - and milk - as most ordered dishes

FISH and chips is the most popular dish ordered via a food delivery service in Fareham, according to new data.

Deliveroo, the on-demand food delivery service, released its findings as it celebrates its first anniversary in Fareham.

It said the most popular dishes were; cod and chips from The Plaice, chicken bubble wrap from Umami Street Food, boneless banquet box meal from KFC and chicken tikka masala from Karim's Indian.

It also said that people had been regularly using its service to order fresh semi-skimmed milk from the Co-op in Oak Road.

Since its launch in the town a year ago, more than 50 restaurants have signed up to the platform. Deliveroo has created work for more than 70 people, with the majority of these being the Deliveroo riders who deliver the food.

It also that 60 per cent of its restaurants were independent.

Harison Foster, regional director for Deliveroo UK said: ‘Our whole team here at Deliveroo are delighted that our rapid growth in Fareham over the past year means that customers have more choice, restaurants are able to increase their revenue, and riders have opportunity to choose well-paid, flexible work.’

Deliveroo customers have the option to schedule orders via the Deliveroo app up to one day in advance or receive food as soon as possible between noon and 11pm, and from noon on the weekends.

Its data also found that Saturday at 8:38pm was the most popular time for Fareham locals to place their orders.
