Fareham pub The Ironmaster to reopen tonight - less than 48 hours after unexplained closure

Yesterday saw posters appear in the pub’s windows announcing that it would close until further notice, with stock and cash removed from the premises.

Now management has confirmed to the pub will reopen tonight, but declined to comment on the short interruption to service.

A post on the pub’s Facebook page added: ‘As a new legal requirement it is mandatory for us to display official NHS QR code for you to log in for Test & Trace via the NHS Covid 19 app.

‘You can download your app in advance ready to use.

‘Look forward to seeing everyone Later when we open @ 6pm.’

The pub, formerly trading as the Market Tavern, was renamed and underwent a £350,000 refurbishment in 2016.
