Huge queue at Primark in Portsmouth as shops allowed to reopen

The long line extends back down Commercial Road in the city centre this morning.

Boris Johnson announced the changes at the end of last month, and they come into force 12 weeks after lockdown began.

Plenty of other retailers in Commercial Road are returning for business today but Primark’s return has seemingly been eagerly anticipated if they queues are anything to go by.

A tweet from Primark this morning said: ‘We open our doors in England today and can’t wait to see you again! Please take a look at the important changes we’ve made in-store.

‘There might be queues on our first few days of opening so please consider this before travelling.’

Gunwharf Quays will also be reopening for business today.

The discount shopping centre has announced that 50 stores will be reopening – including Hugo Boss and Cadbury’s.
