Most have been closed for more than three months but were able to start serving customers again on Saturday as lockdown restrictions were eased.
Despite the cloudy and damp weather, many of the city’s venues had a successful first day back in business.
Since the changes to lockdown rules were announced last month, business owners have been busy making sure they are meeting social distancing guidelines.
It means that face masks, table service and customer limits are becoming the new norm at the city’s drinking establishments.
Our photographer Chris Moorhouse was out in Southsea in Saturday, visiting some of the pubs which had reopened and taking photos of the punters and staff.
Can you spot yourself or anyone you know?
