Non-essential retail will be allowed to reopen from Monday in the next stage of the ‘roadmap’ out of lockdown.
The Prime Minister gave the green light for the latest easing of restrictions to go ahead earlier in the week.
It means that shops like Primark in Commercial Road, Portsmouth, will be opening up again from Monday.
The company has announced a number of big changes ahead of the reopening.
This includes an extension of the opening hours – for the first week initially.
It means that Primark in Portsmouth will be open from 8am to 8pm throughout next week.
The reason the company is extending the opening hours is to help reduce queues, spread demand and give customers more time to shop safely.
Primark chief executive Paul Marchant said: ‘Safety remains at the front of our minds.
‘We have extended opening hours across almost all of our stores to help meet demand safely but we’re also asking our customers to keep up the support and spirit they showed last year, particularly if queuing outside or in-store.’
