Entrepreneur expands his tuk-tuk business
David Goodyer, from Locks Heath, set up Tuk Tuk Direct selling the imported vehicles last year.
The former financial advisor got the inspiration to set up the firm, based at the former Haslar hospital in Gosport, after seeing the tuk-tuks – which are electric and can travel up to 30mph – on holiday.

Now, as well as importing more vehicles for sale, he has now branched out into hire and has converted six into Prosecco Time tuk-tuks that can be rented for functions or special events.
He said: ‘We already have bookings for several weddings, parties and some corporate events.
‘The plan is to convert six, all different colours and really push them for festivals.
