The issue first started to affect people after 3pm during the first half of the Six Nations rugby.

Portsmouth’s own Demi Jones is set to compete in the final of Love Island tonight – so many residents will be planning on tuning in to watch it.

Here’s the company’s full statement:

Posting on social media Virgin Media wrote: ‘We know some customers in the areas of Basildon, Croydon, Coshamn, Poole and Southampton are experiencing broadcast TV issues such as pixilation.

‘We understand your frustration and we’re sorry.

‘Our teams are working to fix the problem as quickly as possible.

‘This isn’t affecting broadband services so online TV and streaming services will still work but we hope to have everything back up and running soon.'
