Virgin Media apologises for TV outage - and confirms problem is fixed

VIRGIN Media has apologised after residents in Portsmouth were hit by a TV outage over the weekend.

Customers were left with pixilated pictures and other issues on Sunday due to the fault.

The issues affected five areas across the country, Virgin Media said, and that included Portsmouth as well as Southampton and Poole.

People first started reporting the issue mid-afternoon on Sunday, with coverage of the England vs Ireland clash in Six Nations.

Virgin Media Corporate have now issued an apology on social media.

They wrote on Twitter: ‘TV services have now been restored. We’re sorry for the disruption caused.’

It followed an earlier post where the company said: ‘We know some customers in the areas of Basildon, Croydon, Coshamn, Poole and Southampton are experiencing broadcast TV issues such as pixilation.

‘We understand your frustration and we’re sorry.

‘Our teams are working to fix the problem as quickly as possible.

‘This isn’t affecting broadband services so online TV and streaming services will still work but we hope to have everything back up and running soon.'
