MP Flick Drummond’s Pompey Litter Pickers group has been on patrol making sure the city is as tidy as possible.

Mrs Drummond and her group of volunteers put on their high-visibility jackets, and armed with bins bags and pickers, targeted Waverley Road up to Bradford Junction in Southsea for the monthly initiative.

Several bags full of cans, cigarette ends and takeaway food packets were collected.

Mrs Drummond said: ‘The city council teams and other agencies do a good job keeping the streets clean, but we must all help.

‘It makes a big difference to our quality of life and what visitors and businesses think of Portsmouth.’

The group will next be meeting on Saturday, April 1.

People are advised to check Mrs Drummond’s Facebook page facebook.com/flickdrummond nearer the time for details of where the team will be meeting up.
