Andrea was inspired to start her own business during lockdown and after a series of ‘lucky opportunities’ she opened Tidal Health in Emsworth last month.

The 51-year-old, who also lives in Emsworth, said she spotted the empty unit in Palmers Road and knew that it was meant to be.

She said: ‘It all happened during lockdown. An opportunity came along that I couldn’t pass up.

‘I have been practising in Chichester and Portsmouth for more than 20 years and I have always wanted to have my own clinic. I wanted to set up a place where people can be treated mentally, physically and improve their well being.

‘I live down the road with my three children and I saw the place was vacant. It was unexpected but it felt right – and it has just flowed.

‘We opened a few weeks ago and I have been so happy with the progress. It is a really warm, friendly place, with a vibrant theme, right in the heart of Emsworth.’

Andrea has gone into business with her husband Simon, 52, who has become the practice manager. The whole family including their three children – Isabella, 14, Felicity, 13, and Augustus,10 – all pitched in to renovate the premises ahead of opening.

‘It has been a real family effort,’ she said.

Andrea has been joined by a sports and massage therapist, an acupuncturist and cognitive behaviour therapist, with the aim of offering a holistic approach.

The clinic offers a variety of services including chiropractic, sports therapy, massage, acupuncture and counselling to families and individuals.

And it has put in a raft of measures, including extra cleaning, longer gaps between patients, PPE and more, to ensure it is Covid-19 safe.

Andrea said: ‘We have been in lockdown for so long, so many people are really suffering, mentally and physically.

‘There has been a real knock on effect to people’s health.

People have not been able to go to the gym, or they are working from home, or not doing their normal activities.

‘They are crying out for the services that we offer. It has been really rewarding to be able to help them.

‘People have been struggling to be seen on the NHS, waiting lists are so long, that they are turning to us.

‘There will be lean times ahead but I am confident that if we give our full care to our patients and value them, then I am very positive for the future.’
