A POPULAR city centre location is the new home for an equipment hire firm celebrating its growth as a business.

First Choice Equipment has officially moved into new premises in Gunwharf Quays as part of its continued expansion - and were welcomed by two Pompey players.

The business’s new office, which has a view of Gunwharf and as far as Southsea, has been completely refurbished to the highest standard and will enable the company to continue its growth.

The multimillion-pound firm was set up by directors Matt Hamill and Nick Smith two years ago during lockdown.

It offers hiring and procurement of a range of equipment including powered access and plant, as well as waste disposal, site accommodation and more.

The company works within several industries, such as events, construction, facilities management and energy, offering nationwide coverage with a local service.

To mark the opening of the new office, the First Choice Equipment team were joined by Portsmouth FC players, Dane Scarlett and Denver Hume, who took part in various football challenges, as well as socialising with the team.

Lewis Hoskins, who was the first employee and is now one of the senior account managers, said: ‘It is great to finally work for a company where you feel valued and get rewarded for the work you put in.

Matt said: We took the team on holiday to Portugal in April and are always looking for more ways to make sure people feel valued at work.

‘We’re currently looking to employ around 15 to 20 motivated people who are eager to grow with the support of the team so we can expand our services and build the business even more.’
