Wilko Closures: Fareham and Waterlooville stores to shut alongside 109 others - when and full list

Administrators said on Tuesday that 111 more stores will serve customers for a final time next week. The firm will close 37 stores after trading on Sunday September 24, a further 37 on Tuesday September 26 and another 37 on Thursday September 28.

The high street chain, which entered administration last month, started its closure process last week. All of Wilko’s 400 shops will close by early October, according to administrators from PwC.

A rescue deal for the stricken high street chain, organised by the owner of HMV, Doug Putman, fell through on September 11. The store in the Meridian Shopping Centre in Havant will become a Poundland, after an agreement was reached for the administrators to sell a number of stores to Pepco.

Staff at the store will be given priority for new jobs when applications open. The store will close this Thursday (September 21).

Administrators have now said the shop in the Market Quay Shopping Centre in West Street, Fareham, will shut its doors for the final time on September 28. It said Wilko’s Waterlooville store in Dukes Walk will close on September 24. There is no news from the administrators on the Portsmouth store in the city centre.
