This incredible effort took place through the school’s ‘Munch’ programme, a community group to tackle food poverty in the local area. Thousands of pre-prepared frozen meals have been collected from the community freezer to help ensure families don’t go hungry.

Headteacher Chris Anders said: ‘The funding gave us certainty so we could be ambitious and creative. We didn’t have to worry about finances for the next month or letting people down if we could not meet the costs. Our school chefs could concentrate on cooking fantastic tasting healthy food and keeping supplies stocked in our Munch fridge and freezer.’
