The Dance Leaders from Priory School, in Southsea, organised the event which saw the 22 teenagers teach dance routines to 210 Year 1 and 2 pupils from seven primary schools in the city.

The event, pictured, was held at Mounbatten Leisure Centre and Priory’s students worked in pairs to deliver the workshop.

Madeleine Campbell, from the Portsmouth School Sport Partnership, helped manage the event with Claire Wallace from Priory.

Madeleine said: ‘Without the fantastic leaders these events would not be able to take place.

‘The leaders are a crucial part of the event delivery and the dance leaders from Priory were absolutely fantastic.

‘It is no surprise this city, with Priory’s students at the helm, is leading the model of student leadership across the whole county.’
