Year 9 pupils create video showing Gosport school's stem project

Year 9 students at Bay House School have produced the video on Gomer Junior School and their dedication to science, technology, engineering and maths.

Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage also features in the clip after she visited Gomer Junior School to see their Stem initiative.

Every Wednesday morning, the pupils take part in projects in science, technology, engineering and maths at the Gosport school.

Pupils also have the opportunity to attend a club and get involved in after-school projects, supported by the British Science Association’s Crest Star Award Programme.

During the filming of the project, pupils from Bay House School, in Gosport, interviewed Ms Dinenage.

She said: ‘I was delighted to visit Gomer Junior School in to see the fantastic Stem projects the pupils have been working on.

‘I had the opportunity to talk with staff, key stakeholders and pupils, who told me all about their fascinating work using engineering, electronics and programming to better understand the mysteries of outer space.

‘The initiative is great because it engages pupils in subjects that so many of them find intriguing and thoroughly enjoyable.

‘But as an MP I also know how important it is for our local economy to get these pupils involved in the subjects early on.
