Coronavirus: Latest NHS guidelines to protect yourself and stop Covid-19 spreading

Public Health England confirmed that as of 9am Wednesday a total of 456 people had tested positive for Covid-19.
In Hampshire there have been 13 cases although there are none yet confirmed in Portsmouth.

The UK remains in the containment phase of tackling the spread of coronavirus, ministers have said.
Moving to the next delay stage would mean that social distancing measures - such as restricting public gatherings and more widespread advice to stay at home - could be brought in.
Earlier in March England's chief medical officer Professor Chris Whitty told MPs the UK was mainly moving towards the delay phase of its strategy to tackle coronavirus.

How to avoid catching or spreading coronavirus
You should do the following:
- wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds
- always wash your hands when you get home or into work
- use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available

Hide Ad- cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
- put used tissues in the bin straight away and wash your hands afterwards
- try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell
The NHS says you should not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean.

- A high temperature (fever)
- Extreme tiredness (fatigue)
