Coronavirus: New UK death toll revealed by government

THE UK death toll from the Covid-19 outbreak has reached 281.

This is a rise of 48 from yesterday, the government confirmed.

There are now 5,683 confirmed cases in the UK - a rise of 665 on Saturday.

During a briefing at Downing Street this afternoon, Prime Minister Boris Johnson described current social distancing advice as ‘absolutely crucial’ and added: ‘We will bring forward further measures if we think that is necessary.’
