Gosport pub closes after suspected case of coronavirus in the venue

A PUB that reopened to customers over the weekend has closed its doors once again, following a suspected case of coronavirus.

The Village Home Pub in Village Road, Gosport, was one of the hundreds of pubs in the Solent region that opened its doors to customers over the weekend, following a relaxing of restrictions by the government.

But this afternoon a post has gone on the pub’s Facebook page to say there was a case of coronavirus in the pub – though it is unknown who has contracted the virus.

The post said: ‘We have had a case of coronavirus in the pub which means that some of us are in isolation.

‘The pub is now shut but all being well will open again on Saturday.’

The statement added that customers who went to the pub over the weekend do not need to self-isolate, unless they are instructed to do so.
