Here's what our readers think about going to pubs when they reopen

The city’s watering holes will be able to open their doors once again from Saturday, July 4.

Boris Johnson made the announcement last week and also revealed that restaurants, cinemas and other businesses in the leisure and hospitality industries would be allowed to reopen.

It comes more than three months after the UK first went into lockdown in March and follows the reopening of non-essential shops on June 15.

We decided to ask our readers for their views on the reopening of pubs – and if they will be heading down to their local on July 4.

Kevin Crumpton wrote: ‘No because I don't drink now but I won't stop other people from going to the pub as we need pubs restaurants and sports stuff to open back up ASAP so we can get back to work again.’

Mark Gates said: ‘Not sure about this one.maybe a drink might be nice especially a nice draught beer- but the atmosphere of a pub wont be the same.’
