Portsmouth house raffle: This incredible £3.2m Portsdown Hill home is up for raffle - and it could be yours for £10

AN INCREDIBLE £3.2m Portsmouth home with city and harbour views has gone up for raffle – and it could be yours for £10.

The five-bedroom property known as Winton House, in Portsdown Hill Road, was fully renovated in 2012 and boasts a whopping 372sqm of living space over two floors.

It’s also got an indoor pool and a two-bedroom annex at the end of its garden, with a detached orangery and 11m upstairs terrace to boot.

The house is being raffled off by a businessman in his 50s who hopes to downsize after it finds its lucky new owner.

He told The News: ‘We bought the place in 2009 and moved in in 2012 after we finished renovating it completely.

‘It was always a bit of a project rather than somewhere to live for years and years to come.

‘The house is too big for us now that my daughter has moved out and we would like to do a bit of travelling around the world.’

The raffle follows similar competitions held across the UK, which have offered entrants a shot at stunning abodes in London, Oxford and Devon for a fraction of their prices.

It was those and the recession brought on by coronavirus that spurred the owner to launch the raffle.

‘As a business owner I like to do things outside of the box,’ he said.

‘Over time I've seen quite a few articles online about people raffling their houses off and I really like the idea, so I decided to do the same.

‘I also think it's a good option to move forward with because of the current climate.’

On what its potential new owner may most look forward to, he added: ‘It's an amazing house to live in. The views at the front and back of the house, especially towards Portsdown Hill, are unbeatable.

‘There are two balconies at the front of the house and a large outdoor balcony at the back as well, so the views can be enjoyed in a nice setting.

‘We built a large indoor, heated pool house in the back garden – this is going to be the feature I expect the new owner would enjoy the most.’

The raffle is open to over-18s only and is set to end at 6pm on December 22, with a live winner’s draw at 7pm on Christmas Eve.

If the funds raised by entries, which cost £10, don't meet the property’s value, the raffle winner will be given the cash as the top prize.
