Snowdrops, crocus and... lemons

The garden's looking a bit bedraggled, but there are shoots and buds appearing already which is heartening.

My garden is relatively sheltered and seems to have its own micro-climate. We have a small pond (with goldfish Bubble and Squeak) and a compost bin, and aim to keep it organic and bee, butterfly and insect-friendly. This encourages birds – when they’re not scared off by Matty the dog.

It’s a small garden but we have crammed in three apple trees, two pear trees, gooseberry, blueberry and redcurrrant bushes, rhubarb as well

as a lemon tree, grapevine and figs.

I love it when the garden comes alive again, so I am looking forward to enjoying the snowdrops and crocus I planted last autumn. Meanwhile I am hoping the lemons will ripen!
