With fitness travel on the rise, ATHX Games and adidas have unveiled a dedicated Hybrid Hotel experience in Lisbon, combining training, recovery, community and competition for athletes travelling to the 2026 World Finals.

As more travellers look to combine holidays with fitness experiences, ATHX Games and adidas are bringing the trend to life with the launch of the first-ever ATHX Hybrid Hotel in Lisbon.

Opening from 26-30 November at Locke de Santa Joana, the pop-up hotel has been created specifically for competitors attending the 2026 ATHX World Finals, offering an immersive environment where athletes can train, recover, connect and prepare for competition.

The concept responds to growing demand for travel experiences centred around health and fitness. Research commissioned by ATHX found that 23 per cent of people would choose a fitness event first and build a holiday around it, while a third consider fitness challenges an important factor when selecting a destination.

For ATHX, however, the Hybrid Hotel is about more than accommodation.

Mark Hartnett-Morgan, co-founder of ATHX Games, said: "The ATHX Hybrid Hotel is about creating an experience that goes beyond the competition itself. For many of our athletes, travelling to Lisbon is about more than taking on a physical challenge. It's about being part of something bigger, meeting people who share their passion and making memories along the way. We want the hotel to feel like a home for the ATHX community throughout the World Finals."

From the moment athletes arrive, the experience has been designed to celebrate both competition and community. A bespoke adidas x ATHX installation inspired by traditional Portuguese tiles welcomes guests, while a Polaroid wall captures memories from competitors travelling from around the world.

The hotel's social room will host live event screenings, athlete meet-ups and expert talks focused on performance, recovery and mindset. Guests can also pin their hometowns on a world map, highlighting the international nature of the ATHX community.

Performance remains at the heart of the experience. Competitors will have access to a dedicated gym created in partnership with BLK BOX, as well as exclusive training sessions on the same equipment used during the World Finals.

Recovery facilities will include mobile saunas, cold-plunge experiences, guided meditation sessions and dedicated lounges equipped with Hyperice recovery technology and professional massage therapists.

Nutrition has also been integrated into the guest experience, with performance-focused menus, rotating breakfast shake options and room fridges stocked with CELSIUS energy drinks.

Athletes staying at the Hybrid Hotel will also have access to a customised adidas showroom space where they can create personalised designs and explore the latest products from the sportswear brand.

By extending the World Finals experience beyond the competition floor, ATHX hopes to create an environment where athletes can build relationships, share experiences and make the most of their time in Lisbon.

The ATHX Hybrid Hotel will operate from 26-30 November 2026. More information and bookings are available at: https://fixr.co/event/hybrid-hotel-lisbon-2026-tickets-826182434?lang=en-US.
