11-year-old girl touched inappropriately in Liphook as police release appeal

Police have launched an appeal after an 11-year-old girl reported being touched inappropriately by a man while out with her friends.

The girl was on Portsmouth Road in Liphook when a man she did not know bumped into her and touched her inappropriately over her clothing. The incident happened on Wednesday, November 13 just before 4pm. The girl was not physically hurt and left with her friends.

A Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary spokesperson said: “We’re carrying out enquiries in the area today to establish what happened, including reviewing CCTV. The Neighbourhood Policing Team will be carrying out regular patrols over the coming days.

“Anyone with any concerns or relevant information can speak to one of these uniformed officers. At this early stage of our investigation we are working hard to identify the man involved.”

Police have released the below description as described by the victim:

  • White.
  • Aged in his 50’s.
  • He had a receding hairline.
  • He was wearing a beige jacket, chequered shirt and jeans.
