Arrest after driver lands BMW in ditch on M275 after police chase

A MAN has been arrested for dangerous driving and assault of an emergency worker after a police chase.

Officers from the Hampshire Road Policing Unit attempted to stop the BMW driver in Portsmouth and gave chase on the M275 before he was eventually apprehended.

A police spokesman said: ‘A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of theft of a vehicle, failing to stop, driving a motor vehicle dangerously and common assault of an emergency worker after officers from our Roads Policing Unit attempted to stop a BMW 120 D yesterday (March 26) on the M275, just after 2pm.

‘He remains in custody.’

The News approached Hampshire Constabulary for comment relating to the tweet detailing a drug dealer but no drug-related arrests being made.
