Brawl spills onto street near The Marine bar, Isle of Wight, with two men assaulted and an arrest made

FIGHTING spilled out onto the street outside a bar with a group of people punching each other.

Hampshire police were called to reports of a brawl in the early hours.

Officers are appealing for more information after they were called to reports of a scuffle outside The Marine bar, in Ryde Esplanade, Isle of Wight.

Two people were assaulted just after 12.30am on October 16.

Hampshire Constabulary said one arrest was made, and they are appealing for more information.

A statement said: ‘We know there were a number of people in the area at the time that will have witnessed this incident, and we are asking witnesses to please get in touch with us.

‘As part of enquiries, a 34-year-old man from Ryde has been arrested on suspicion of assault by beating and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

‘He has been bailed until 13 November while enquiries continue.
