Coronavirus arrest: British man, 26, arrested on Isle of Man for 'failing to self-isolate'

Police on the Isle of Man have arrested a 26-year-old for failing to adhere to emergency rules, it has been reported.

The man faces a possible £10,000 fine and is due to appear in court.

Officers said he was detained ‘for failing to adhere to the new legislation requiring him to self-isolate,’ The Independent said.

Police added: ‘Please follow the guidance issued by the government and think about the safety of the community.

Today the first case of coronavirus on the Isle of Man was confirmed.

The self-ruling British Crown dependency is not part of the UK. It has brought in emergency powers to dial with the pandemic.
