Dispersal order for large gangs of youths

A DISPERSAL order set up for Paulsgrove has been effective, according to a police spokeswoman.

The order was brought in for the area around the shops in Allaway Avenue on Wednesday after police received numerous reports of anti-social behaviour among a large group of youths.

This order lasted until Sunday.

The Hampshire Constabulary spokeswoman said there had been reports of up to 20 children hanging around the area, running in stairwells, setting small fires and behaving anti-socially.

Seven people were dispersed on Thursday – and the area has been quiet since.

The spokeswoman said: ‘The feedback we have received so far is that it has been quiet. However, the police are still monitoring the area and they are working with partners to address the behaviour.’

Anyone with concerns about anti-social behaviour in Paulsgrove is urged to call police on 101, quoting reference 44170087522.
