Drink-driver, 25, banned

A DRINK-DRIVER has been banned for 18 months and fined £325.

Darius Finch was caught on December 11 last year during a crackdown run by Hampshire police.

The 25-year-old pleaded guilty to drink-driving a VW Polo in Gunwharf Quays car park.

But the case was adjourned until this month after he argued against a ban.

Portsmouth magistrates have now banned him.

A test showed he had 80 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, more than double the 35mg limit.

He must also pay a £32 victim surcharge and £200 prosecution costs.

Finch of Ebery Grove, Copnor, Portsmouth, has the chance to reduce his ban by 133 days if he completes a course.
