Fareham and Portchester crews battle car fire on Titchfield farm

Crews from Portchester and Fareham were called to a farm, on Triangle Lane in Titchfield, to reports that 100 tonnes of hay bales were on fire but the blaze turned out to be a car.

A spokeswoman from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘Crews from Portchester and Fareham were mobilised at 2.33am this morning to a farm on Triangle Lane.

‘There was a vehicle well alight in a field.

‘The car was 100 per cent (destroyed) by fire and extinguished using a hose reel and one breathing apparatus.

‘The stop message came in at 3.07am.’

A tweet from Portchester Fire Station said: ‘We were mobilised with @Fareham17 RDS to a reported fire involving 100 tonnes of bailed hay alight in Titchfield, this turned out to be car fire on a farmers field.’
